Never Fades
24 03 2007Welcome back friends! I won’t babble on … just read, and tell me what you think. Click the appropriate link (or type in the box) to do that. It should say “comment.”
Does a kiss fade away,
or does it float like feathers on the wind,
going where it likes,
with no rhyme and reason,
no time and season, on a whim?
Does a kiss remember?
Like the one in September, when we stood at your door,
as we had before, but what happened to that kiss?
Stranded in bliss, I think it slips,
but where oh where did it go from my lips?
To your heart?
To your mind?
Someplace I can’t find,
or maybe never will?
Does it remain there still, patiently waiting for a friend?
Can you see my kiss, imprinted on your soul,
each one by one making whole the fantasy
that you and me can make it to eternity, and beyond?
I wonder if someway, somehow my kiss to you some years from now
will return to today, in the very same way
that it left us back in time that day
when you and I stood eye to eye and made a love that wouldn’t die,
that wouldn’t quit, that wouldn’t cry,
but stood strong, so long and proud?
Does a kiss fade away, or does it float like feathers on the wind?
I hope it feels, I hope it wills itself back to your life.
Cause on that day, somehow, someway, I’ll take you as my wife.
